HTC Focus 3 Ecosystem: All Apps and games currently available

Vive Focus 3 is a standalone headset from HTC that relies on it’s own content ecosystem. Originally the idea was to to partner with Google and use their Daydream store but with Daydream being abandoned HTC changed plans and decided to build their own app ecosystem instead. For those interested in how they are doing here is a cursory look at all the available apps and games.

Applications and Experiences:

Most apps on the list are free to download, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re free to use. Some will offer both free and paid modules, some will offer a demo, some ask for subscription and some are totally custom and require a quota from the developer. Regardless, almost all apps will at least let users see how they look and feel, and most will also allow for a bit of tinkering before making commitments. Some like Engage are entirely free to use.

A non-interactive experience that takes users to an Italian museum of art and design, the Fondazione La Triennale and shows how the space kept changing through time.

3D Organon VR Anatomy by Medis Media

A visualization app that lets users explore the skeletal system, muscles, vessels, nerves, and other organs. Can be used as a supplement for anatomy curriculum or as a self-discovery experience.

3DVista VR by 3DVista

Interactive player for videos made using 3D Vista VT Pro. Primarily used for tours and portfolio presentations.

Arthur by Arthur Technologies

Arthur is productivity and collaboration app that focuses on virtual office spaces.

AtOne Lite by Nakatomi

Guided meditation app that puts users in immersive real-world environments. Comes with 30 individual meditation sequences.

ARuVR by ARuVR

Formerly known as VRtuoso, ARuVR is a training and authoring tool that allows for both in-demand and real-time sessions.

Bodyswaps by JCR Group

A soft training tool. Free modules include an interview/meeting scenario that lets user prepare better and an inclusivity workshop where user learns how to spot harmful or divisive behaviours and how to react to them.

Cosmic Flow by CosmicVR

A relaxing audio-visual experience, that takes users on a journey through various kaleidoscopic environments.

Educational tool that teaches users about swabbing and testing procedure for PCR Covid tests.

Glue by Glue Collaboration

Collaboration app that offers both free and paid subscription.

Gravity Sketch by Gravity Sketch

A very popular 3D design and modelling app that’s used by many VR artists. It allows for online co-presence making it also a useful collaboration and review tool for teams.

A safety training app for welding related scenarios.

Immersed by Immersed VR

A productivity and collaboration app that offers ability to create multiple screens as accessing mobile phone from inside VR. There’s also option to overlay real world keyboard with the virtual one. Free 7 day trial available.

JoinXR by Fracture Reality

A collaboration, presentation and remote meeting app. Allows users to directly upload native CAD and BIM files.

Mona Lisa: Beyond the Glass by Musee de Louvre

Educational experience which explores the genesis of what became arguably the most famous painting in the world. Experience is free of charge.

VR Speech Trainer is another oratory training tool. Users can upload their presentations, select one of gamified training scenarios and then practice receive their communication skills.

Award nominated puzzle solving adventure game, taking place in a world known from Alice in Wonderland. Shortlisted for the VR Game of the Year by the 2021 SXSW Gaming Awards committee.

Part fitness, part rhythm game that utilizes boxing mechanics.

A Multiplayer shooter with a variety of different modes. It’s a popular title with an active player base both on Steam and on Quest. This, together with cross-platform support, means users will always find someone to play against.

A slashing game similar to Fruit Ninja.

A horror adventure game that focuses on escape puzzles. It’s considered to be quite bloody and gory, so be advised.

Walking simulator designed for escapism and relaxation.

As the name suggest this one is a boxing rhythm game.

A VR take on a classical Snake game. Lead an ever-growing slurpie through series of stages.

Aerial simulator that puts players in the shoes of a WWI pilot.

You, Calligrapher by Patha Pradipa [Price: $5]

A slow paced traditional ink-writing simulator. Users are asked to follow template animations in order to learn proper brush strokes.

Summary: There’s a variety of standalone apps available but HTC Vive Focus 3 ecosystem is, on the whole, not maturing at a satisfactory pace. Very little new content is being added, maybe a couple apps per month at best.
